Today we would like to present our new guest blogger, who will blog about SEO on our City blog, Paweł Młyńczak from SEM Studio.

Tell us a bit about yourself. What is your profession and your hobby?

My name is Paweł Młyńczak. Now I am currently expanding my own SEO business under SEMstudio.pl trademark. My hobby is history, football and mountaineering.

Everyone is talking about SEO lately, can you tell us, what SEO really is?

This is a search results setup, that allows our site to be shown as high as possible. The aim is to attract valuable traffic on the site.

How did it happen, that you work with SEO these days?

I stumbled on SEO during student training. This topic interested me to such an extent that today it is my main source of income. I really enjoy it and if it brings some money it is even better.

Can anyone be a positioner?

Positioning is a constant learning process, testing different solutions, checking what competitors are doing, and adjusting to search engines changing algorithms. If you like to constantly expand your knowledge, this is a great job for you.

How to start and what to start with, when you want to work with SEO?

There are many books that can be helpful, when you start your adventure with SEO. There are also many free courses and guides, where you can read and learn about basics. Certain blogs are also helpful, where you can find information about basics, but also valuable information for more experienced users. I suggest also biggest and best „open” forum for SEO (PiO – www.forum.optymalizacja.com).
Of course if you only read posts and forums, you won’t be able to start right away. The best way to learn how to do that, is to work on a physical site, where you can test your solutions and put the theory into practice.

How much time it takes, to see the effects and what is the cost of SEO?

The answer to that question consists of two words: „it depends”. First of all it depends on the positioned phrase, if it is very competitive. Local phrase like “hairdresser Szczecin” can be positioned within a short time, while others more general like „tires” or „financial services” take couple of months to position properly. The same rule applies to costs. If the phrase is very competitive, it takes more resources and cost to position it.

Do you remember any special cases, when working with SEO? Strange phrases, keywords?

There is nothing so special, to be able to hit me directly. There are some clients though, that would like to use “very strange” keywords, where even first place for such phrase wouldn’t really generate any traffic. Fortunately in most cases I can convince client, that this is not a very cost effective solution.

What will you blog about as a guest blogger on City-blog?

First of all I would like to write about a topic that you need to take into consideration, when working with SEO – page optimalisation. Then I will move to methods on how to get the outer links, for beginners as well as more experienced users. The last topic is about tools, I will show the most needed ones as well as the ones that help you to optimize your work process with SEO.
