We have currently updated our webmail client and calendar. It went ok and now all our users can explore new functions like automatic e-mail installation from your iOS.
Automatic e-mail and calendar installation in your iPhone
Users that have iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod) can easily configure e-mail, calendar and contacts in their phone automatically. It is done through global settings at City Network and for you as a user it is easy. All y ou have to do is to go to webmail (mail.citynetwork.se) and follow the instructions.
Synchronise your contacts
Now we also have a contact server in your mail client. You can add, delete and edit contacts directly in your webmail, that automatically pushes it out to compatible smartphones (iOS and Android) and mail programms (Mac Lion, Thunderbird and other CardDAV clients). Together with this installation comes support for contacts synchronisation.
Updated calendar server
New and updated calendar server is written in PHP and saves data in MySQL. This boosted performance and response time up to 75% comparing to previous version. There is also external support for iOS.
Calendar blocked for editing
You can create a shared calendar where you are the owner and distribute rights to other users. It is great tool when creating public calendars where you as an admin create events that no one else can change.
