How to connect your social and email marketing

Some time ago, before the whole social media was popular, people promoted their services and products through email marketing. Then Facebook showed up and became very popular which determined new ways of promotion. In social media it was easier and faster to show suport or dislike for the products or services.
That doesn’t mean you should all of the sudden stop your email marketing and focus on social media.
We will give you some tips on how to combine those two.

You used to work with email marketing campaigns before, so there is no reason for you to stop doing that, just because social media took a big piece of marketing campaigns. What you should do is to combine them together, what will give you flexibility and better reach. Let’s see what we can do there.

Use social media to expand your email subscribers list

Some time ago we published a post on how to get more subscribers for your newsletters. Basically you can get them via flyers, business cards or when you meet them in person. You can do the same via your social media channels. Post information about your newsletter, say a bit what people can expect when they subscribe to your newsletter.
You can also share additional or exclusive information there, which is available for them only.

Add your social media page in your email

When sending out a newsletter, you should always add your social media pages there. Facebook and Twitter have characteristic icons, so if you have them in your newsletter, it is easy for people to find you there and follow/like your page. This way you can have your customers on both marketing lists and are able to perform your campaigns on two different levels. This is very helpful if you want to have bigger impact and wider audience for your campaigns.

Adjust Your Offers to right channel

If you want to attract more users both to your subscription and social media lists, you can offer them different coupons, free gadgets or some discounts on your products. It is one of the best ways to gain new customers, as well as keep the current ones. Such opportunities can be published on your Facebook wall, Twitter feed or on any other social media portals. You can use different channels for different types of campaigns.

General thoughts

We wrote before about web page optimization, it is important to have the social media icons visible on your page, so people can easily find your channels, and connect to them.

If you haven’t started your social media presence yet, it is high time to do that. Today you see more and more brands and pages that are in connection with Facebook and have their pages there.

Are you using Email together with your Social Media Marketing? Or do they play a separate role in your marketing plan. If you have any tips of your own, please share with us.
